Happy 230th Birthday Marine Corps!

And may the "tip of the spear" have 230 more.

This seems to be a bit of a theme on some of the top righty blogs today, whereas the top lefty blogs seem to have a slightly different troop-related theme going.

This kind of dichotomy makes it very, very hard for me to consider voting for Dems even when the GOP and their righty minions continue to do a lot of things I don't like.

Dave,

i think most reasonable democrats would also disagree with at least the fringe aspects of daily kos. you should be basing your voting preference on the candidates, not their supporters (or detractors). though that could still lead you to vote republican!

True, and I try to. I should note several Dem pols are now Kos diarists though, which is an implicit endorsement of this kind of lunacy. Still, if I had to choose between, say, the Kansas school board pushing ID and moderate Dems, I would certainly go with the Dems.

But this kind of thing tends to sour me on the whole left.

A really galling thing is that, IIRC, Kos' MOS was artillery -- and therefore he *knows*, definitely, that WP is not a 'chemical weapon'.

And yet, this.

dave,

yeah, it sucks when sensible wings of either party have to bear the brunt of their idiot fringe elements.

which candidates are kos diarists? i don't read kos (the whole quantity thing makes it impossible to read in any meaningful way), and couldn't find anything in a quick google search, but i'd be curious to know if it's anyone from around my area.

Happy Birthday to our brave Marines! I salute every one of our heroic fighting men and women, Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force. Victory!

And, therefore, yes, I will vote Republican, the party of Lincoln. I also support school boards that promote Intelligent Design.

Phosphorus a chemical weapon? That's the Daily KOS for you. Please though, pleeeease I beg you, don't equate the Daily KOS with the typical Democrat. They are not typical Democrats.

From what I understand--please correct me if I'm wrong--Kos served less than a single hitch as an enlisted man, which makes him an expert on almost nothing except maybe basic protocol and training.

The Swedish blogg Stockholm Spectator debunks most of the chemical weapons claim here. There are also links to even more thorough debunkings done by Scott Burgess of daily ablution.

Oh, and before i forget: Semper fidelis!
