Well... as an administrator of a rather popluar poker blog Up For Poker, I've fallen victim to these Splogs numerous times. Most are just banner farms that steal RSS feeds and plaster the pages with ad content. Fortunately, they aren't very successful and rarely manage much of a google ranking.
