Stem Cell Advance

Well, this is certainly promising. If true, a majority of those opposed to embryonic stem cell research should be satisfied. (Some won't be, but most will.)

That certainly puts to bed any moral concerns. Of course scientists still are having more success from mature stem cells than they are from embryonic ones - but this opens the door to those possibilities that are cited so often.

I am now opposed to stem cell research. Unless a life is destroyed in the process, where's the sport in it??

Why didn't they just take a rib out. After all it is the approved method.

If they can and will do this... I have no objection to embryonic stem cell lines that are started this way.

However - anything I've read that isn't pure "Embryonic Stem Cells are the Philosopher's Stone!", says that they've had far more luck with adult stem cells, and that embryonic stem cells have proven to be TOO mutable - unstable, prone to degradation in each generation. (His seeming unwillingness to even consider those two facts as something to, well, factor in, is why I skip past anything Glen Reynolds writes on the subject)
