Wow. What happened to Mr. I-don't-like-sports?

Dean Esmay:
My childhood sports team came out of one of the lengthiest slumps in sports history. (88 years.)

That'll do it!

Wow, 2 complete games in a row for our starters. That doesn't happen often in the playoffs.

Bullpen should be well-rested.

It'll just make the crash that much sweeter for us North-siders!

And now I'm ensured that the final crash will occur right on 34th street, too.

Typical north side snobs. I'd cheer if it were the Cubs on top. %-)

Then you are a rare exception. Sox fans are notoriously more vehement in their Cubs hatred than visa-versa.

Me? I'm pretty vehement in my Sox hatred. Mostly because it'd absolutely rip me to shreds if the Cubs were the only eternally losing team in the city. Misery desires company.

I wonder if New Yorkers have this issue?

DE: Don't get too excited. My Angels just wanted to boost their self-esteem by letting them win one game legitimately. They can go ahead and win the rest now, and I'm off to their stadium in California, Los Angeles, Anaheim or wherever the hell else they play just to make sure they do.

TD: I don't know about New Yorkers, but can say that Angelenos don't have this sort of rivalry, probably due in part to the fact that both teams are almost never good at the same time. They also don't have the same degree of regionalized appeal, i.e., there have always been Dodger fans in "the" O.C., and there's certainly no shortage of Angel fans in L.A. right now (and not just because Arte Moreno changed their name to imply that Anaheim is in L.A.).

I wondered when the Angels had moved to LA! Heh.

I also wonder, will the White Sox feel sorry for the Angels and let them win at least one at home before crushing them in Chicago, or will they put them out of their misery tomorrow? >:-)
