Regeneration Secrets

Okay, this story is a mindblower if true: researchers claim they have discovered the secret of limb and organ regeneration in mice. They're able to get them to regrow limbs, digits, even vital organs including even the heart.

I'm dying to see the actual peer reviewed data on this. Anyone got a lead on it?

(Thanks Jerry.)

I saw this a week or so ago, looks very promising. It was some combination of genes iirc.

dean,

this page has a summary of the lead researcher's publications:

link.

the one on heart regeneration is published in the proceedings of the national academy of science, very prestigious. the most recent paper is from 2003, though, so maybe the stuff in the article hasn't even been published yet (or the website i'm linking to hasn't been updated, heh).

Cool! I haven't lost any limbs, but there are times when a third arm or a second set of eyes would come in handy.
