Truth is, I'm not sure whether to cheer for those being kicked, or for those doing the kicking. After all, who represents what, in a shit-hole like Egypt?

As for Mubarak, I assume he's just another quasi dictator pretending to be America's ally, in return for enough billions of dollars each year to bribe the people there who prop up his regime.

But remember what I have alluded to here. It's entirely possible that the people getting the shit kicked out of them are just another pack of salafist islamists baying like wolves for jihad.

Find out before taking sides.

I generally sympathize with anyone who gets the crap beat out of him by government thugs simply for criticizing the government. I see no evidence that these people were violent or dangerous.

Egypt (Muslim-Occupied Egypt, today) has been a shit-hole ever since they abandoned their eternal Gods and Goddesses. It began with Akhenaton's blasphemous apostasy. We need another General Horemheb.

That's what happened to all ancient peoples who abondon their gods and goddesses. They just became playthings for someone else's empire. Whether that empire is the Rome of Augustus, the Europe of the popes, Islam of the Khalifs, Turks or the Salafists, or any of the others.

The old gods had a certain dignity about them, and they were properly integral to the cultures from which they were generated. The Norse under Odin were certainly more interesting, and a hell of a lot more manly, than the Norwegians under the Lutheran Church of the Kingdom of Norway.
