Terrorist Takedown in UK

It appears that the police in the UK are not playing around with suspected terrorists: apparently they've shot one alleged attempted suicide bomber this morning. The BBC and Sky News have details.

I'm sure they know what they're doing, I just hope this doesn't turn out to be a mistake.

Other than I hope it was a bad guy, I see no wrong in this approach.
Although getting a little info from him first would be the best thing - then shoot him.

Mike,

Multiple witness statements indicate wires trailing from him, possibly from a suicide belt. Given that, I guess that putting him down now was the right thing to do. They get no info from him if they shoot him or if he blows himself up; but the second option may take innocents along with him.

Thanks for the update, Martin. As I said, I see no wrong in this approach. My preference would be to take alive and question.

And while I'm wishing I'd like a sports car.

But let me reiterate - I see nothing wrong with sending the wanna-be "martyr" off to his spiritual "reward" highly unfulfilled.
