The intent of this bombing appears to be to focus fear on a point two weeks from now. If in two weeks the subways and buses are empty, the bad guys win.

To that end I am organizing a group of Americans to travel to London, ride the Underground and the bus on August 4 in a show of solidarity. It would be nice to have some company, but I'll go regardless.

This is a small gesture some of us who are too old, or simply not interested in joining the military, could do in the war on terrorism.

I realize this would be a big expense - impossible for a lot of people - but if you can manage it, and are interested, let me know.
