To the last of my days, I will always remember this sound: Transporter.

But it would be cheap to just remember that. Doohan was a great Canadian, a warrior, and a working actor and writer for his entire life. Wikipedia has a look at Doohan's life.

He was my favorite character. Of the four (McCoy, Kirk, Spock, and Scott) Scotty always seemed to be the one balanced "human".

He seemed like a good man. I actually met him once at a convention in Detroit. Had him sign a bunch of stuff. Good times.

I noticed last night, thanks to my Motorola DVR, that he had an uncredited bit part as an FBI agent in The Satan Bug. Needless to say, he got killed.
