Battlestar Galactica

Hands down, the finest Science Fiction show ever televised.

My prediction this season is that amongst other things Tom Zarek pulls a "Yeltsin in the tank" moment, leading an insurgency to restore President Roslin. Oh yeah, and we finally find out what the cylon religion REALLY is all about--probably that the cylons have determined they can't evolve without human help.

Good call on Zarek. Bet you're wrong on the Cylon religion though. It will remain little more coherent this season than last.

Zarek has everything to gain by helping out Roslin. What better way to appear more moderate for the election in 6 months? That crafty socialist bastard! I'll bet this whole situation is the doing of his personal advisor - Carl Rove! Yeah, and then Starbuck, while working on her Cylon fighter will find the name "Haliburton" stamped onto the frame. And then the Colonial media will be all like, "Why do the Cylons hate us? What did we do to offend them?" It was Roslin, working with Carl Rove, who really broke with peace treaty with the Cylons! Being Secritary of Education made her drunk with power. Warping Colonial children with tales of horror of how humans "treated toasters like common household appliances" only further widened the rift between human/Cylon relations. Rove, however, betrayed Roslin. With calls of, "No blood for trinium!" filling the air waves, Rove knew Roslin had gone too far. She'd have her war while she was safely away aboard the Galatica, but it wouldn't last long. She's too exteme. Enter Zarak. With Rove working together with Haliburton the Cylons "conviently" avoided Zarak's prison ship and Rove had his next President. With a litte work he could make this terrorist seem moderate when compared to Roslin!

It's all because of Rove and Haliburton! Don't you see!? Ah-hahaha!!! This all happened before indeed! The Cylons know!

Sorry Dean, I tried to watch it. I hoped it could replace my all time Fav 'Andromeda', but it seems IMHO like 1/2 soap opera and 1/2 drama. I like the later, but can't stand the former.

Ever? No. It's far too soon to say that -- they have plenty of opportunity to screw it up.

Curently, yes, although Smallville is pretty good (although it may not qualify).

There are at least three other all-time candidates: Farscape, Buffy and Babylon 5. And yes, Buffy was SF. Battlestar may make it into that group in time, but it is NOT a done deal. Ask me again during season 4.

I haven't had a chance to watch last nights yet. I'm never in a hurry to watch it but I always love it and wonder why I waited...

I'm waiting for the religion to revolve around some oddity like "there are too many live souls and we need to kill people to free some up for us (Cylons)" or something like that. Otherwise why bother? Pack up, tell the humans we're leaving and don't bother us and we won't bother you.

How was Buffy SF???

Vampires, demons, magic, prophecy, etc + no technological or scientific advancements beyond the present day = not SF.

I think Buffy would fall under "fantasy horror" but since the advent of the Sci Fi Channel this too seems to fall under the illdefined sci-fi genre. Blame it on the USA Network.
