Utah's Gay Gun Culture

Now here's a fascinating item on multiple levels: Despite Ban, Gays With Guns To Attend Events.

To be honest with you, my first thought was, "They have gay pride events in Salt Lake City? With over 30,000 people expected to attend? Do the Mormons know?"

My second thought was, "Man, my gay friends who tell me the PC crowd bugs them must have a point. I mean, even in Utah gay people are supposed to be anti-gun? I mean, don't they issue a gun to everyone over the age of 12 there?"

Okay, okay, all kidding aside: I'm glad to see Pink Pistols-associated groups showing up in more and more places. Because I've always believed firearm ownership is a fundamental human right. The anti-gun paranoids worry me as much as control freaks like Rick "I'm not a theocrat, I just want a theocracy" Santorum, John "First amendment for me but not for thee" McCain, or Teddy "I'm not a communist, I'm just a Useful Idiot" Kennedy.

....just had a vision of a gay redneck:

..Gold-capped teeth instead of missing teeth; pink pick-up truck with designer gun rack...well-coordinated overalls/cowboy hat ensemble...

Did I just offend a bunch of people?

How is the gun gay?

Never mind. I don't want to know.

Excellent. You said it all. You named my enemies (Santorum, McCain, Teddy Kennedy) and my friends (the Pink Pistols). The battle lines are clearly drawn. This is why I love Dean's World.

Reminds me of the ad I once saw: "Government doesn't belong in your bedroom. So, what's it doing in your dresser drawer?", showing a condom sitting beside a revolver.
