Newsweek Fired, Replaced By Bloggers

Newsweek got fired from a Boston radio station--and two bloggers are replacing them. I can't stop cackling over it.

First, the story of how Newsweek got canned in Boston, and might get canned in other markets, is detailed here at Brian Maloney's blog. This, of course, puts a big smile on my face: after all, Newsweek deserves it--scummy, traitorous, unpatriotic slimeballs that they are.

But what really put a smile on my face was this email I got just this morning:

Good Morning Dean,

I wanted to let you know that Pundit Review Radio is back on the air. In a delicious piece of irony, Boston's talk leader, WRKO, has decided to replace Newsweek International with a show that promotes bloggers and thought leaders in the new media.

As you know, we will examine traditional talk radio topics (politics, media, culture) by highlighting the work of the best, most insightful thought leaders in the new media. Any help you can provide by letting your readers know about this is greatly appreciated.

Our first show is this Sunday evening at 9pm on AM680 WRKO in Boston. The show is streamed live at www.wrko.com. Our first guest is James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal and OpinionJournal.com. Next week Don Luskin of Poor and Stupid and later this month, Hugh Hewitt.

If you enjoy the show, I hope you will let the station know that you would like see Pundit Review Radio as a permanent part of the WRKO line-up.

Yes, we would love to have you back on the show as well. I'll be in touch about that seperately. Thanks and hope you are able to listen Sunday evening.

Kevin

I have been a guest on Pundit Review before. They were brash upstarts who had been bloggers before being radio guys (their weblog is right here). They lost their show earlier this year when their old station underwent a change in management.

And now they're back on a new station--replacing Newsweek.

HeeheeeheeheheeheeheheheheheheheeheheeeHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dean, Newsweek got fired neither because they are scummy, nor traitorous, nor unpatriotic, nor slimeballs, but because they are inaccurate and therefore undependable and therefore useless as a medium of news communication.
