Toshiba Sucks---Less
Dean
So after infuriating me by telling me I'd have to wait until the end of May, suddenly the repair shop called this morning and said they'd gotten the part in and I could come pick up my laptop immediately.
I don't know if that means someone at Toshiba reads this weblog, or, if it just means that their initial estimate was simply wrong. Whatever it means, the laptop's home.
Praiseworthy: they got it done sooner than expected. Not-praiseworthy: giving such an off-kilter estimate in the first place.
Anyway, I'm relieved to have the machine back.

I'm not guessing, they call such parts pull-outs, and they used to do it for my customers quite often. Proves the old saying The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Sometimes I would tell Toshiba (and other OEM's) a customer was irate when they were only highly disapointed just to speed up the part because it made life and business better for everyone involved.
