Howard Dean As DNC Chairman: Boon Or Bust?

When Howard Dean because DNC Chair one segment of the party said it'd be great (solidify clearly defined positions) and the other said it would be a mistake (create unease among centrists). Does this show a trend in either direction?

Honestly, I think it's too early to tell, and we have too little data.

But if the implications are true, it raises my respect for the American public that they're turned off by Dean.
