Dean's World Third Blogiversary

Pundit Guy notes some information on blogging anonymously.

If I had it to do over again, I'd blog anonymously. But it's three years too late for that choice. Which reminds me:

Dean's World just reached its third blogiversary.

Three years. Damn. And you know what the only thing I really regret it? Not starting a year or two sooner.

You know what else? I still stand by the very first item ever posted on Dean's World.

Dean - Thanks for providing a great website to all of us.

I must admit, though: I miss having the opportunity to change the colors at Dean's World! That was fun :)

Dean,

Congratulations! But you have more than longevity. Any muleheaded individual can keep writing, even if no one's listening. You've also grown a loyal readership base. And you've grown your concept: adding co-bloggers, supporting Carnival of the Liberated, and taking strong stands and the shots that come with them. Truthfully, those accomplishments are more important than longevity. They're just harder to note on a calendar.

If I had it to do over again, I'd blog anonymously.

Interesting. I have almost the opposite perspective.

Wow! You were less than a year old when I started? I thought you'd been around far longer and that was part of the reason you were long since such a big fish.

Congratulations!

As for anonymity, I have mixed feelings. Still. Which fits with my mixed level of identification, having started off using a reality-based pseudonym known to a number of non-blog people. That let me be clearly me without being blatently me, if that makes any sense.

These days I'm all but "out."

One issue as much as anonymity is whether to let friends and relatives know the blog exists. In our case, they do. We both sometimes wish they didn't. To be certain of that would require anonymity so a simple name search couldn't help.

I always thought that was a pseudonym. ;-)

Sincerely, Dean, thanks for all the fish. And everything.

Happy Blogiversary! It's true, longevity isn't the big accomplishment - the fact that your non-anonymous name is well known &respected is.

..so, where's the cake?

Congratulations! EGO blog is almost as old as Dean's World, but is not playing in the same league yet... ;) Please check out the annual report III on May 7!

Dean,

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm coming up on two years, and I've said before, you've been a major inspiration to me.

Keep it up for three more at least!

(BTW, I would have thought your blogiversary would have been enough to make Steven Malcolm Anderson come out of hiding!)
