Idol Thoughts

Of the remaining nine contestants, I think Scott, Nikko, or Anthony need to go tonight.

If they dump Nadia, I will commit honorable seppuku.

By the way, I hate Constantine. He's such a whore, he may just win this thing.... dammit.

* Update * Well Nikko was a nice kid with a great story, but it looks like voters mostly agreed with me tonight. Good luck in your future endeavors, Nikko.

By the way, for those of you who haven't been watching so far, next week may be a good time to start watching the show. The remaining 8 contestants are very talented people. Even the 2 or 3 left who I don't much like have much to commend about them.

Constantine is an evil genius. He figured out Bo had taken the serious "rocker" vote. So he reconfigured himself as David Cassidy. And it's working!! Evil. Genius.

Scott should go. Anthony should go. Nikko should stay but might go. Nadia should stay but might go.

Bo should win but probably won't.

Carrie should win.

Doug: I'm with you.

Richard: She has a tremendous voice, I'll grant you that.

I've felt for quite some time that it'd be Bo and Carrie at the end, but last night's performances threw a monkeywrench into the works.

The category of Musicals would have basically turned this week's competition into a week of marking time: whoever would go (I'll refrain from saying who it was, since some time zones haven't seen the show yet) would mostly be based on previous performances, and everyone else would pretty much hold their relative positions. But Constantine's performance (and whoever came up with that brilliant arrangement of Funny Valentine) helped push him way up in the standings, IMHO.

So for now, I'm sticking with Carrie and Bo for the final two, but Constantine's movin' up with a bullet.

[Deleted -- I started talking about who got voted out, and who should go next, and they were the bottom two vote-getters tonight. Almost forgot about the Left Coasters. Yeah, yeah, you can tell that the three folks I mentioned earlier weren't voted out, but who in their right mind thought that they would be?]

At any rate, pending the upcoming performances, I think the next-to-last singer from this week will be the one who goes next week.

Its folly to predict anything with this show, other than after each Tuesday night’s performance.

These are people. It doesn’t matter what their particular potential might be. Each one could drop a major turd on stage on any given night, and that’s the end of them.

And I don’t feel too bad for Nikko. With his millionaire family, I suspect he can continue to enjoy his musical aspirations till the end of time with no concerns about earning a living from it. Great gig if you can get it.

Nikko had a nice run but it was time for him to go.
Scott needs to go, we already had a Ruben ...

Federov will have a nice career on a cruise ship, after last night's performance I have the theme to Love Boat running in my head.

Antwan also needs to hit the road. Broadway is calling.

Constantine - he's despicable. :-)

Carrie is awesome, Bo is awesome and hot, Nadia is good and if the singing doesn't work out, she should try modeling. That girl is beautiful. Vonzell is good and pretty, I'm seeing a sitcom on the WB in her future.

This thing will come down to Bo and Carrie.

Who the heck is Antwan?

Did you mean Anwar, perhaps? :-)

Fix it you big jerk! ;-)

I guess that just shows how memorable he was.

Wow. Rosemary thinks Nadia is beautiful too? You two must be made for each other. I just don't see it, but whatever.

There really is no accounting for taste. My wife loves broccoli in cheese sauce, but I think it’s a major waste of cheese. And offensive. I would rather eat cock roaches in cheese sauce. Vive le differance, I guess.

YOU don't like broccoli in cheese sauce?

The hell you say!

I'm just so happy to have a show I can watch with my nine year old daughter. But, its Bo. He's been off the last two weeks but I love rock-n-roll and Bo's got it down. Kim, my daughter, loves Carries and she'd be my second favorite. But that Constantine does do the pout very well. And I used to love David Cassidy.

Nadia's a definite hottie, and fun to watch (ditto Vonzell and Carrie). Anwar is the best pure singing talent, but that isn't what Idol voters are looking for. Constantine creeps me out, Wife-Beater Scott has no talent (he should've gone instead of Nikko, who had improved dramatically after his first vote-off), and Federov should've been disqualified weeks ago for willingly choosing a Richard Marx song.
