Red Vs Blue

If you know anyone who still doesn't get the whole "red vs. blue" thing, show them this movie.

(Thanks Kevin.)

Interestingly, the teams may have to switch colors in 2008, if the media stays consistent and alternates the colors for the incumbent party. The media staying consistent is a big IF, of course.

It will be interesting to see if they do. Red/blue seems so entrenched in our dialogue now, and I noticed these last few elections that even campaign signs tend to follow red for Republicans, blue for Democrats. I noticed only a few exceptions here in Michigan.

I would think that the reasons for the variation are also a little outmoded. 30, 40 years ago, coloring a state or party "red" would have implied communism, and some would have objected. But painting Republicans red in the 21st century just won't have those connotations.

I'd be willing to bet that these colors wind up sticking.
