Dean's World

Defending the liberal tradition in history, science, and philosophy.

Disgusting Pig

Ugh. I'm watching now and they're showing Jerry Falwell being interviewed on the floor of the Republican convention.

Who let this hatemongering lunatic in? This scumbucket who said 9/11 was brought about because of feminists, homosexuals, and liberals?

And why aren't the delegates present pelting him with rotton eggs and moldy fruit?

Feh.

I suppose I should give this cretin one bit of credit: he actually apologized for saying something so asinine. No sign yet whether that walking bag of hate-filled puss, Michael Moore, plans to apologize for the equally disgusting things he's said and done.

Ugh. Politics is rarely easy. But if Bush wants respect from moderates, he should never allow a sack of garbage like Falwell into his convention. Bleargh!

Catch 22:
Oh, bull.

Drive another nail in. You could have gone to CSPAN2 and watched Jimmy Carter.

But, noooo, you had to watch Jerry, cuz you love him.

Yeah, okay...

Falwell sucks but at least after he made his disgusting comments he apologized.
"I do not know if the horrific events of September 11 are the judgment of God, but if they are, that judgment is on all of America—including me and all fellow sinners—and not on any particular group."

Funny, whenever Republicans fuck up and say stupid shit they apologize. When is the last time we heard Democrat hatemongers like Fred Phelps, Michael Moore or Al Sharpton apologize for their nasty rhetoric? Hmm?

My favorite Barry Goldwater quote ever:

"What Jerry Falwell needs is a good swift kick in the ass."

If that's an apology, I'm an Ompa Lompa.

Timothy Snyder, Falwell's comments are more of an explanation than an apology, yes. But now it's a proper speculation -- and not a direct judgment on others. Falwell got upset, like we all did, in the aftermath of 9-11. Surely that's understandable.

I don't know why Dean hates Falwell so much.

I'm prepared to forgive him for his asinine remarks after 9/11.

I've been watching him for two decades, however. He's got a lot more to answer for than that.

Hey, isn't this part of the "Big Tent" approach? We take the the wacko's and the normals. The Democrats have George Soros, Howard Dean and the Black Helicopter crowd. We can have our slightly off center ones too. Let me go off-topic, but related.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Absolutely. Next to: "Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." I totally agree with that and with just about everything else Goldwater ever said. In my heart, I know he was right.

As for Jerry Fartwell, Dean described him exactly: "disgusting pig", "scumbucket", "sack of garbage", "walking bag of hate-filled pus". Except that perhaps I might want to reserve those for his comrade, Pat Robertscum. They are my enemies and I am proud to hate them. Along with the despicable Lou Sheldon, Robert Knight, and the rest of that ilk.

I will say this in their favor, though: They are at least enemies who know that the real issues are the spiritual issues such as homosexuality. In that I must say that they do have a certain _style_. They are in that way superior to John "Comrade" Kerry, Jimmy "One World" Carter, Michael Moore-ass, and the rest of the Leftist crowd who think that the primary issue is economic inequality.

That is one main reason why I hope Bush wins. I do not want to waste four years swatting away Leftist flies when I would far rather be battling my enemies on the totalitarian Right. Get the Left, the Jeffrey Rosens, Paul Krugmans, etc., out of the way, so we can get the real spiritual War going, the totalitarian Right as represented by Falwell, Santorum, Bork, Justice Scalia, etc. vs. the individualist Right as represented by Goldwater, Pim Fortuyn, Camille Paglia, Justice Kennedy, etc..
