Dean's World

Defending the liberal tradition in history, science, and philosophy.

Got satire? (Karol Sheinin)

The Washington Post has apparently fallen for the Communists for Kerry schtick noting "Kerry might prefer to eschew the four-member 'Communists for Kerry' contingent, whose placards advocated a 'France First!' foreign policy."

The Rubik's Cube is individualist and elitist, creating divisions, hierarchies, and inequalities, oppressive, reactionary. Use the People's Cube instead, it is egalitarian and revolutionary. One World!

The sad part is, the "Communists for Kerry schtick" is so belivable that the WaPo reporters had no idea it was satire.

Hah. They understood that the billionaires for Bush were satirical. Perhaps the Communists for Kerry were just too close to the truth. The US communist party does endorse Kerry.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
