Athens 2004 Has Link Rules?

Please tell me this is a joke. The people running the web site for the games this year want you to agree to terms and conditions before you can link their site?

Who do they think they're kidding?

This would be funny if you hadn't once asked at least one blogger not to Trackback to your site.

Maybe they have similar rules governing ticket purchases, and that's why nobody's attending...

Around half of the 5.3 million tickets available for the Athens Olympics still remain unsold, raising fears that some athletes could end up performing before sparse crowds.

The seats at the early gymnastics competitions televised on NBC were mostly empty.

Trackbacks are links that appear on my site linking back to yours. Like comments, when they're merely hurled insults or used to project hatred, I've got every right to delete them and ask the offending party to stop mooching traffic off my site.

You want to link me, I can't stop you. But I am under no obligation to allow either comments or trackbacks which insult me, distort my words, or threaten me or mine.

Geeze, what are they going to do if you link to them? Ban your blog?

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
