Harry Shearer: The Simpsons Suck
Dean
Harry Shearer says The Simpsons has sucked for the last three seasons.
All I can say is: thank you, Harry, for finally saying what so many of us have been thinking.
The Simpsons has gone on way too long. There's no fixing it, the show just needs to wrap itself up and try to go out with something left of its dignity.

I think anime's spoiled me. After watching, say, X or Please Save My Earth, the animation on the Simpsons looks really, really crappy. Do the artists deliberately *try* for ugly animation? Because they've certainly succeeded.
I don't much care for sitcoms either. I have to deal with stupid people enough in real life; in my free time I choose to deal with intelligent, interesting people I respect, like a character from Law &Order or Star Trek. You know, someone with an IQ that's higher than his shoe size. Stupid people annoy me.
S-Train: I like all of those too. Also don't forget Sealab 2021! I love well-written and clever cartoons. :-)
"Give me more money to do something sucky."
(check is cut... time passes ...)
"It sucks."
no wonder you didn't make the cut at Air America.
Am I the only one that believes the only thing worth watching on broadcast pretty much for the last decade is NFL football and "Friends"? And I didn't even start watching "Friends" until recently.
Actually, yes. That was a deliberate style choice by Groening, along with the ugly style of the characters. (Notice that they have no true focal point and actually seem somewhat wall-eyed, with tiny pupils.)
Just so's you know.
Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.
Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
