Internet Explorer Threat

In case you haven't heard, hackers are specifically targeting Internet Explorer, exploiting weaknesses in Microsoft's browser that help it integrate with Windows.

Frankly, it's smart to stop using Internet Explorer. There are lots of good ones out there, but my personal favorite is Firefox--which I notice has recently been updated to version 0.91. I'm not sure what's different between version 0.9 and 0.91, but I'm using 0.91 now and it's working just great.

If you're a regular web user, you may want to dump Internet Explorer and explore alternatives like Firefox instead. Not only does it work quite well but it's safer than Internet Explorer is these days.

I'm here with Firefox 0.91. It is indeed a superior browser, but this text entry window is bleeding over to the right to the edge of my screen, across the right hand column of other links. Surely that is not intended.

I actually prefer opera though Opera doesn't operate well on a lot of webistite. that said, opera has a lot of features (such as easily altering the size of the font or switiching between author and user mode) that i really like.

I most often use firefox though; and the upstairs computer, my dh's
computer is netscape.

UPDATE: even though composing my first post was a bit confusing owing to the bleed-over, which I am seeing again, it showed up properly formatted.

One step forward, two steps back. Wait, reverse that.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that transparent effect (is that the same thing as bleed-over?) was all over my registration form. I'm using Firefox .9, by the way.

I had a bad time with both netscape and firefox and had to both register and post using only IE.
More work is needed but you prob. know that.

Also I want my post name to show only QuantumThnk, what do I do?

Dean Esmay (www):
Stephan: I don't know what the "transparent effect" you're talking about is.

Richard: You'll have to change your "name" to first name "Quantum" and last name "Thnk" I would guess.

Since I knwo you that'll be fine.

Registration for the new Dean's World went smoothly for me in Opera 7.51 for Linux. And the site is looking good in Opera— I find this morning that it's is looking much smoother than it did at its debut yesterday. Sans-serif fonts, thank God! ;)

Sorry, not quite awake yet this morning. I find that it's looking much smoother than it did at its debut yesterday.

BTW (obligatory plug), did I mention that Opera is a damn fine browser? ;)

*sigh* Yet another reason to spur my home computer's gradual migration from Mac OS 9 to OS X. (I know, I know, I use an outdated version of a less-used OS, but I'm difficult that way.)

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.
