And Let's Not Forget Him (Joe Gandelman)
His ordeal, grace, courage and written thoughts will never be out of our mind. This week the world paid their final goodbye.

He was a precious and most inspiring young man. His books are absolutely wonderful.
I saw him the morning on Good Morning America or one of the morning shows. The station that broadcast the morning show surprised young Mattie and brought President Carter to meet him. He was young Mattie's hero, a peace maker he would tell people. The bumper sticker on the coffin read, Be a Peace Maker.
I have thought about his mother quite a bit this week knowing she is alone now and lost all her children due to the disease they all had. She has the same illness.
Joe it brought tears to my eyes as well.
Janelle,
You were the only one that posted on the previous
topic on Mattie. I noticed that. I was going to post but I didn't want to be the first and was very disappointed in that others did not.
I know Mattie only from his public personna. I saw an extraordinary young man with a very bright intellect. His star still shines and will for a long while.
