Jackass
Frank J. notes that the top-grossing documentary of all-time is Jackass: The Movie, if we're going by the standard of what makes something a "documentary" these days.
Seems appropriate.
In the meantime, Resurrection Song feels that Michael Moore now represents the center of the Democratic Party. Sad if so, although I hope that's just hyperbole.
I especially like the bit where the producer (Rumsfeld) tried to get those "con"tractors to attach electrodes to the Iraqi prisoner's genitals. That had me rolling on the floor. Now, if the Geneva Convention didn't apply in this case, why are the Soldiers facing court martials? Looks like the men and women in uniform just got punked!! Oops, wrong show.
Or maybe the one where VP Cheney tried to motivate Sen. Leahy to perform a very difficult physical stunt with himself.
Talk about a bunch of jackasses.
Luckily this tragic sitcom is going to be cancelled after only a 4-year run. I guess the rating were too low. Personally, I thought the program was intelligent enough for my taste.
...wasn't intelligent enough...

Whatever, Tim. The great thing about reality is its persistence. I know lunacy has its own staying power but if you are, as it seems, tying your own mental well-being to the fortunes of the political left in this country, well, you would be wise to stock up on your meds now. Anyhow, Tim et al not withstanding, I don't think Moore can yet be safely said to be in the center of the Democrats; mainstream yes, but the flow is pretty wide and he is only about knee deep. I encourage Mr. Moore in his activities as his lies contain a Greater Truth; the fundamental stupidity and visciousness of the Leftist in all its glory. Moore truly is a man of his age and oh, how I laugh. If this is the best the left has it is Moet time.
So I guess you'll be real upset if it turns out that Moore is the center of the American electorate.
Shocked and disgusted, but it ain't hapenin'. But you may be a wagering man, lay out some sort of parameters and I'll put $500 on it. Like say, the election.
Sorry, meg. I've gambled enough to realize that I'm lucky at love. For the good of the country, I'd hate to jinx Kerry. And more to the point, how 'bout a $500 bet that no right-wing "documentary" tops Moore's box?
Funny you should mention that shep. I dont recall any rabid attack-dog filmakers going after all the looney conspiracy theories about Clinton, but here we see the left praising Moore for doing just that to a sitting President who he has already slandered in public.
And Kerry doesnt really need you to jinx him, he's cursed enough as is just being himself.
There were those on the right who published books saying that Clinton was a drug dealer as governor and a murderer (repeat murders, Ron Brown and Vince Foster) and so on. They were just as nuts and just as irresponsible as Moore--although Moore's film will obviously get a wider audience than those wingnuts' books did.
Hooray for Hollywood.

shep, I am quite ignorant of any "right wing" documentarys in the pipe now and the box office take is of no interest to me. American Pie, as I recall, did quite well, is that an endorsement of its worth? No, just evidence of the number of idiots with seven dollars in their pockets. F911 will evaporate like Clarke's book so weighted with fraud it is. When you are a Left propagandist and have lost Richard Cohen, your audience is narrow indeed. I would however enjoy an examination of the relative credibility of Moore's slanderous bile, on the merits, against the couple of films done on Flight 800 and the Koresh massacre, the titles escape me. For those nursing outrage, you might familiarize yourselves with GENUINE abuses of power and criminality (like the murder of American citizens), unlike the retarded anti-American fantasies of Michael Moore. It would be a good lesson for the Angry Left, if they are capable of absorbing such. Me; not optimistic.
