Envy Me, Mortals

My 6.5 year old son just sent his virst Instant Message, and his first email. All in the same day.

And he sent both of them to me.

Don't you wish you were me? I know I do!

Oh yeah! You da man! :) And yes, you are the envy of a lot of us right about now.
I feel lucky too. I remember when my son first learned email and instant messages, and his first were to me.
New landmarks for a new generation. Ah...gotta love em.

Your son sent an IM to you? You have two computers? You rich fatcat. You will be the of the first group liquidated after the revolution.

What are you talking about dowingba? After the revolution, there will be a computer for every person - every single person - and we all get to live in mansions as we live in our perfect paradise of equality! Now, by computer, I mean tracking chip, and by mansion, I mean an apartment to share with another family.

Everyone will have a computer, because after the evil capitalists are all liquidated, we'll redistribute all of their several-per-capita computers to our loyal subjects. And of course, by "computer", I mean "telescreen"...

Kids these days are very smart plus, Jake is a product of 2 intelligent parents.

My 8-year-old cousin created a Hotmail account for her mother and showed her IM and emoticons.

No, I'm kinda happy being me. ;) But congrats - that's a fantastic feeling, isn't it?

I may lose everything else on all of my harddrives... but I have multiple backups including hard copy of the very first email my goddaughter sent me when she learned how to use a computer. THAT I'll never lose.

Dean:

I'm sure glad you're you!

Pardon me for hijacking your comments, but...

Announcement: In their infinite wisdom [/sarcasm], the USAF censors have blocked me from accessing my mu.nu log-in page and any mu.nu comments. Luckily, I should be home in another 2-3 weeks. Posting will resume then.

That is a treasure. It tells me your son sure loves his Dad and what a good influence you are and of course Rosemary.

Heh.

Yes you are my wonderful son. Yes you are.

Be careful what you wish for. Those kids grow up way too soon. First they crawl, then they walk, then they talk, then they BLOG!! Then they think you are soooooo old. Congratulations.

Teach him to email too early, and he'll give you back the ultimate double-whammy by becoming a spammer.
