THIS Is Consistency (Joe Gandelman)

On the flap over the unrepentant (and quite proud of it) Veep's use of the f-word in an exchange with another Senator The Staunch Moderate (adult language in link) writes:

"Personally, I trust men more if they're willing to use strong language from time to time. Good for Cheney and Kerry."

THAT is consistency -- the same rule applied to both sides. We say: Bravo (or as the Veep and Kerry would say *&!^%A$@!$%!!").

I think there's a difference between an argument between two men and doing an interview with Rolling Stone.

Let it go, Joe.

I agree. President Truman and Senator Goldwater both used strong language. Not namby-pamby. Honest, direct, gutsy, let 'em have it with both barrels. Those are the kind of men (and women) I like.

And I say Steven Malcolm Anderson is a *&!^%A$@!$%#!!

...and I know him very well.

ha! ha! ha! ha!

Indeed, I didn't really care about Kerry's Rolling Stone interview, and my issue with the Secret Service thing was that he was cursing a Secret Service Agent, when the man not only wasn't in a position to defend himself, but would not be allowed by professional ethics to say anything in kind.

Secret service thing - not true. Kerry said it later as a joke, "That son of a bitch got in my way."

Look it up.

Michelle Malkin is right. Both men should have shut their mouths.

Personally I have no problem with what Cheney said. I would have prefered it if Leahy shot back with "Eat shit, fat boy," but you can't have everything.

After the Kerry inaugaration this will simply be an amusing antecdote in the tissue of lies that will be Cheney's memoirs---which is exactly what it deserves to be. A footnote, nothing more.
