George Bush's Favorite Ice Cream (Joe Gandelman)
It's called Blue Bell and it's the pride of Texas. When The Moderate Voice does shows in Texas in his non-blogger incarnation Blue Bell is why he comes back "of size." Behind the ice cream is the story of a family and company that doesn't compromise on what made it popular.
Braum's (Tuttle, OK) beats Blue Bell any day.
How do you eat Blue Bunny?
No trick to it.
Just open up a carton, dig in and do it.
Well's Blue Bunny
Hop right to it.
I don't remeber if the ice cream was any good, but I've never been able to get the damn jingle out of my head even though I moved from Omaha twenty years ago!
... And then there's http://www.wketchup
Is this supposed to go into the Reagan liked Jelly Belly jellybeans and Bush likes Blue Bunny ... ?
He probably thought it was just neat that it was the same as his pajamas. .... Tough crowd :)
Andrew, Bush's already got his own ice cream - along with "Iraqi Road" and "I hate the French Vanilla" you can also pick "Governmint" or, my personal favorite "Choc and Awe".
I also don't know if Well's Blue Bunny and Blue Bell are the same company- all I know is that ditty has infested my brain cells for two decades!
Wow, even Blue Bell's jingle is better than Blie Bunny.
That little creamery in Brenham
sure is big on taste
that's the reason Blue Bell Ice Cream
keeps on tasting great
fresh ingredients, down home goodness
the best that it can be
Blue is the best tasting ice creeeeeam
in the countreeeeeeeeeeee.
And the best slogan: We eat all we can, and we sell the rest. (And they really do. Free ice cream for all the employees.) If you are in the right place, at the right time (right about now, since they are in season) you can catch Peaches and Homemade Vanilla in the stores. MMmmmmmmmmm.
