A Film Festival From The Right Side Of Hollywood? (Joe Gandelman)

Look for it in September in Dallas and Michael Moore may not like some of its content...

Yes, there is a Right side of Hollywood -- but just barely. We have seen _very_ few anti-Communist films ever. "My Son John" [haven't been able to find a video of that one], "The Manchurian Candidate" [superb, but also anti-McCarthy], "Red Dawn", "The Killing Fields" [but blames America for Pol Pot]. No films about the Nazi-Soviet Pact, the Moscow Purge Trials, the Hungarian Rebellion, Mao's "Cultural Revolution", etc..

But plenty of films about McCarthyism, the HUAC, the "Hollywood Ten", deranged American generals starting a nuclear war, etc.. The Dalton Trumbos and Lillian Hellmans are still very much with us, more than ever. We need more Morrie Ryskinds and Ronald Reagans.
