#@!*&!!!@$!! (Joe Gandelman)

Hey, I wasn't the one who said it. HE said it (and last time a politician talked like this the other guy was denounced all over the airwaves and Internet...will HE?)

UPDATE:
--Wonkette offers these new details...
--Just as we suspect, the hypocrisy of that $@&^! language being defended when it was so awful some time ago is being pointed out...but at someone different than who you'd suspect. But then, a new person under the microscope for his defending the #*&^!@!! language is indeed inconsistent, given his public comments in the past...

Why are the relevant details always missing in these comparisons? Was Cheney speaking in front of a group of school children? No. So there is no comparison between speaking in a public place in ear shot of kids and speaking directly to one person or a group of adults.

I don't care either way. I wish they'd all curse more often.

"Fuck you."

Well. The two times I can remember Kerry being taken to task for this sort of thing were when he said Bush "fucked up" the Iraq occupation, which I frankly thought was both incorrect but also not particularly noteworthy. I thought it was funny to tease him about it, not be outraged by it.

The other story I seem to recall is that a Secret Service agent annoyed him. That's a bit more serious since a guy whose sole job is to protect you is someone you don't want to be yelling at like that. On the other hand, if he just said, "sorry man, didn't mean to lose my temper," then you know, case closed.

So I don't know, doesn't context matter? Are people mad at the language, or at the context of its use? I'm frankly on Cheney's side with this ridiculous Halliburton crap. The man has no ties to the company of any significance (receiving a retirement income that doesn't change no matter how the company does financially is not significant, sorry) and whipping up the Halliburton connection is just political demagoguery. It's ugly, it's vicious, it's unnecessary, and it pollutes our politics at a time when we don't need that.

What I wish is that we'd spend more time talking about ideas rather than this sort of crap.

Leahy is all Adam Clymer, all the time.

Steven Malcolm Anderson is a fucking asshole moron bastard.

...and I know him very well.

ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Cheney got his response perfectly on key: "No regrets. Felt better." What a perfect way to rally the troops and show that you won't balk at some strong language to put those commie gun-haters in their places. His "fans" are drooling.
