Young Protest Warrior Victorious

This is one brave kid. Smart, and going places.

Also illustrative of something I've been saying the last few years: the left and right have switched places without most people noticing.

Woah. I was considered pretty thick-necked in school but this guy... I'd like to think if a comparable controversy had been ongoing when I was in high school I would have done the same thing but it's impossible to know for sure.

It's like the '60s all over again. In more ways than one. :-)

Takes me back to the late 1960s-early 1970s when I was in high school -- by contrast. Most of the teachers we had were fairly conservative and the liberal teachers we had really were liberal. We had a vibrant Left or "hippie" element among the students but they didn't dominate the school in any sense. Most or as many of the kids who had any views at all were on or leaned to the Right. It was a pretty even balance, a spectrum of all views, even like unto this blog. We didn't have anything resembling Political Correctness when I was in school. Good old Central High School, Monmouth-Independence, Oregon, Class of 1973!

Anyway... ....He's a hero. Thank you! And another thank you to Sondra K.

Someone going by the name of "Cheddar" came by and dropped this cheese wizz in my comments.
Thought I'd share...

Wow, this kid's a moron. Has he read history? Has he traveled? I guess, at 18, he's just an easily riled white boy. But, Jesus. Proudly anti-Arab, vehemently pro-war, and apparently not too well-versed in history (if his postings are any clue). "Except for ending slavery, fascism, Naziism, and communism, war has never solved anything." Huh? Slavery--sexual and otherwise--is far from "solved" in the Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, hidden parts of the US and elsewhere. Naziism is alive and well--ask a German Turk. Communism, of course, is thriving in China; not doing so well in Cuba, North Korea, and Vietnam (having traveled in some of these countries, I think Bryan probably doesn't really know much about Communism other than the caricatures he's promoting). And, while we might disagree on the definition of fascism, it'd be easy to argue that that's what's going on Zimbabwe or Sudan. If the kid's bemoaning a lack of balance in the classroom, more power to 'em. But it sounds like he--and all of you dittoheads--are advocating one form of extremism with another.
