Iraq & Al Qaeda

I can't top what Cox & Forkum have to say.

Of course! Since we have no evidence, but we really want it to be true, it must be true!

Come on, Dean, you can do better than that...

Because we're still trying to prove that we did the right thing by going to war in Iraq.

Actually, I think what "we" are trying to do is convince the last few remaining naysayers that we did the right thing going into Iraq, despite all the evidence that said naysayers would refuse to agree even if Bush personally dug up an arsenal of nukes bigger than our own, stored under one of Saddam's palaces.

Scroo'm, I say. If they're determined to insist that true is false and false is true, let 'em.

We have all kinds of evidence, which has appeared both in the national news and this weblog. No one ever claimed they were deep, close ties. But we know there were links.

Shit, Al Qaeda is active in every country in the Middle East EXCEPT for Iraq? Gimme a break.

Cox & Forkum get it exactly right.

Bush did not invade Iraq because of al Qaeda. Bush invaded Iraq because it presented the highest profit margin for his major campaign contributors. After all, the ties between Cheney and Halliburton are much closer than the ties between Hussein and bin Laden.

Hopefully Pres. Kerry will hunt down the al Qaeda bastards wherever they hide (even if it's behind Bush supporters in Saudi Arabia)

Actually, I think Halliburton had closer ties to Saddam than Al Qaeda.
