Mark is a little annoyed at what is seen as an anti-Israel message.
Well gosh Mark, picky picky. I mean, surely a sign saying 'Smash the Jewish State' has all sorts of room for interpretation. What kind of rigid ideologue rightwing Arab hater are you that you can't see that, my good man?
So the Chronicle, when faced with hard-left vitriol, refer to it in the most "balanced" sort of way, but use the terms "right-wing" or "conservative" for anything on the right 50% (or more) of the political spectrum.

How do you know he means Israel? Maybe he's referring to another Jewish state? 4th century Yemen, or that place in Siberia?
