Cosby Cracks Heads
Whoah. Bill Cosby read black people the riot act at an NAACP meeting, and hardly any of the national news media covered it.
Further updates here and here.

* Update * Lindenen reminded me that I should check Joanne Jacobs' site. I should have checked sooner, as they're having a good discussion on it.Joanne also notes that blacks are fleeing the public schools while still more members of the establishment are endorsing school choice.
I don't think that people are going to be able to keep up this charade about school choice being a sinister effort to "undermine public education" for much longer.
joannejacobs.com also has a post on this including another post about black flight from the public school system. There are a lot of posts on Cosby's remarks. Most saying "RIGHT ON!"
Thanks, I gotta hit Joanne's site now.
Greedy lawyers and the idiot parents who hire them have ruined the public schools. What the schools need are nuns, armies of grim, tight-lipped nuns, armed with chalk, erasers, and yardsticks, ready to put the fear of God into any little shithead who would disrupt the classroom.
Won't happen, though.
Don't forget nuns who float across the floor.
Yep, when middle class black parents demand real choices, vouchers will come become common place. Will prolly already have happened by 2008.
When abortion is looked at racially, and pro-abortion is racist, there will be bizarre Democratic Party dissonance -- and abortion will prolly lose. To be replaced by adoption.

This is the fatal crack in the Democratic base; African-Americans, especially urbanites, and the education establishment. They are hopelessly at odds, the voucher movement brings this to a head most deliciously. Even in WDC, the voucher program has stripped off Democratic city officials to work with Rep Congressman. The curtain is withdrawn, the Great and Powerful Oz is revealed... and is pretty unimpressive. Reality is rearing it's ugly head on the failed utopians yet again. But they never learn and never will.
I say just get the government out of the way and let the black man or woman rise on his or her own.
Ayn Rand wrote an essay on racism back in 1963 (reprinted in "The Virtue of Selfishness") that says absolutely everything there is or ever was to be said on that issue.
You know what I've noticed: You never see whites uniting behind a certain cause. There isn't a white caucus for anything. Why should we look at this racially? Why not just as every man for themselves?
