Spirit of America!
Would you like to help U.S. service men and women who want to make a difference in Iraq and Afghanistan? Your 100% tax-deductible donation will help. Can you give $5? $50? $500? What can you afford? Any amount will be helpful.
This weblog, along with a partnership of a few dozen other weblogs, is attempting to raise funds over the next week for the Spirit of America. Minus credit card fees, 100% of all funds donated will go to the causes overseas. If you can drop a few bucks, please just click here.
(This plea for your help will stay at the top of Dean's World all day today. Come on, people, there's a war to win and stuff. Let's do our part!)

Did my bit :). Sorry my brother never got back to ya...
Are my eyes deceiving me, or did Jim Hake just send out an E-mail announcing receipts so far of over three-quarters of a million?
Dean
Theres 2 broken links at the Alliance donation page.
John: They don't deceive you. Let's see if we can't crack a million.
Val: Which ones dude?
I am trying to russle up some software donations from Adobe or Macromedia. May take awhile.
Dude, let me know.
Anyone else who has any ideas on how to get people to donate please let me know! We have a small list of ideas but the more the merrier!
$764,408 in five days, and the equipment set to leave Pendleton by the 29th. Not bad. Maybe a google bomb could help attract attention and bring in a bit more? Hey, it worked for waffles.
Healthy competitive nose-tweaking in progress. Scroll to the bottom.
Neener neener neener.
Dean, it's your link on the leiting of blogs that is broken.
You have until April 29th to admit The Fighting Fusileers are better propagandists than you are ... if not better spellers. Or else we'll fart in your general direction.
Incoming!!
Yes, the link above is (ahem) broken.
Here's the CORRECT donation link.
Dean,
Operation CP override complete. Please verify all links are correct.
I want in on this liberty thing...how can i join dean?
Dean,
I've already donated from Smash's blog, but I'm sure you don't mind. Just want to congratulate you and Rosemary personally for all you've done to support the troops in these kind of efforts. It's All Hands On Deck for the real Minutemen. Mike Moore should die of shame!
Dean and Rosemary, this is a really great fundraising idea. Good Luck! But in the interests of fairness, I'd like to point out AAR did NOT bouce any checks---that's a lie that started on Matt Drudge's website and got picked up by the right-wing media. They stopped payment on a check becasue their landlord had double-dipped on the rent.
Glad I could clear that up for you, and best wishes with your pledge drive.
Um...yeah Don...Thanks. We believe you on your word.
/sarcasm
Dean,
Respectfully, you're getting your butt kicked.
You need to start pulling your weight -- Step it up, Buddy!
SMASH is 100% wrong. THIS is the correct link.
ROOL! Huzzah!
I just gave to this cause. Yesterday Dean had a post about internet dating and mentioned, eHarmony. I could not finish it because I did not have the money to join. I am single and have Rhum.Arth. and Lupus so I have to set a strict budget as I said in Dean's post. I did not bring up my illness for any other reason but to help somebody out there that was single and alone like me. I wanted them to know there are really nice people out there that are lonely like myself and accept you for who you are, and just how good it made me feel that I did get five responses of men that were interested and only two of them would rather chat with me after they saw my picture.
What does this have to do with the drive all these blogs are doing for a great cause?
Well, if thousands of names go into a computer and then the computer matches up just five people for me to possibly date and just talk to, well...,I thought about it last night when I was curled up in my bed with my buddy and pal, Mr. Pips, my year old kitten. I realized that out of all the names on that dating site just five people had already answered me and as I said, accepted me with my health, my iniquities. A light bulb came on in my heart thinking about this wonderful cause, it really, really did. It touched me deeply. So if I just donate let's say, $5.00 to this cause and my simple name in my simple town, right here in the good ole' USA, could get the attention of even 5 people in Iraq then would it be worth the investment?
I came to Dean's World today and made my simple pledge, my small donation. I felt wonderful. Yesterday I wished Dean and everyone the best and pledged my thoughts and prayers.
Today the light bulb in my mind is still on and I can not tell you how many watts of light surrounded my heart for doing this, KNOWING that my pledge will go into the computer and open radio waves to not just five people, but hundreds, if not thousands of men, women, and children in Iraq will hear the truth. That made all the difference in the world to me.
My prayers will be heard, and I am sure of that. Giving a pledge helps put those prayers into the law of tithing which always gives back tenfold.
Thank you for listening if you read this.
I am broke...but, I gave a few bucks! Good Luck Rose & Dean...this is definitely a worthy cause.
Good Heavens, Val---I HOPE you're not taking my word on it! You should visit www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0414043air1.html or http://web.morons.org/article.jsp?sectionid=7&id=4854 for more info.
I might ask why you're willing to take Matt Drudge at his word---his record re: the truth is pretty piss poor.
