The Problem With Democracy

Chris Noble notes the problems of literal democracy, and some things we should think about when helping the Iraqis construct their new Constitution.

The interim government that takes over in June will have a lot to deal with. But it's not worse than what many successful ventures have had to deal with in the past.

Considering that neither the president nor the current occupation authority has a clue who the "interim government" is going to be when, ostensibly, we turn over the reigns of government 75 days from now, that might make it "worse than what many successful ventures have had to deal with in the past." Did I say “best plan”? How ‘bout “a plan”.
