My father's oncologist told him something similar to the first link when he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Interesting.
Titicale, it's a blood test for the PSA and all men need it. Please have that one done even if you don't have the 'other' test done. The blood test/PSA will save your life. Prostrate cancer is the slowest growing cancer and one of the most treatable. If caught early enough through PSA testing, it is usually a complete recovery.
Request that your doc give you a blood test. My son who is 23 has had his done. They usually don't start giving the tests until you are older--50ish.
My dad's doctor's philosophy was the old 'use it or loose it' theory. :)
I suppose what we really need now is a target number. Just how often do I need to launch the troops? I mean, if it's a choice between a headache and preventing prostate cancer ...
I truly look forward to telling my doctor that I am confident that I don't need that exam.

If its a small load, you can always do the laundry yourself.
Blindess or cancer? Hmmmm.
