Blogosphere 3, New York Times 0

Bill Hobbs notes that the folks at Augusta National apparently intentionially used weblogs to thwart the New York Times. Literally, intentionally, targted key webloggers to help bypass the mainstream media and get their case before people. Read it. It's amazing. I gotta pick up that book.

Since someone dear to my heart introduced me to blogs I found them, well quite a few of them really good and found myself reading the mainstram media a lot less.

Good for you bloggers!

I'm with Janelle on this one - blogs provide an incredible amount of context and fact-checking for mainstream media. They're becoming indispensable.

There's been a lot of thwarting of the Liberal Deathstar in the past couple of years, all to the good, IMO. I, too, get most of my news from blogs and blog links to articles and columns. The best part of the Times getting taken down is pulling down so much of the rest of the Old Media with it.
