And The Winner Is....(Rosemary, the Q.O.A.E.)

The Boobs:
Nobody got them exactly right. 36DD

Cinomed and Katherine and others guessed 38D. 38D cups are identical to 36DD cups, 38 is just too big around. So close enough!

The Weapon:

Mr. Mossberg is a 12 gauge, pump-action shotgun. It holds four rounds. First round is Buckshot. Chamber this round and it will spray like an aerosol can. It's a can't miss, just in case I'm nervous or startled. I recover quickly. Second, third and fourth rounds are Hollow-Point slugs.

The first round is the only "chance" against me. You don't want to meet me after the first round is spent. Can you say "unrecognizeable"?

Thanks for playing!

Erica guessed them right today Rosemary and my guess was right there with Katherine, us women know these things about the discomforts of a bra if they have certain things to hold the bigger women such as yourself up. ;)

oops, she did guess 38. sorry, you're right your majesty! We should bow down to a bosom so heavenly endowed ;)...Dean is in heaven no doubt, no bout a bout it!

Hey NO FAIR! The contrast of that pic was so bad I wouldn't have guessed anywhere near 36DD...

RE-TAKE! RE-TAKE! Where's Chris Lehane and David Bois when you need 'em? This was a sham...

Posted by chris on March 11, 2004 at 2:17 PM

Chris,

You didn't even guess! Plenty of people guessed very close, a few went bigger...

Posted by Rosemary the Queen of All Evil on March 11, 2004 at 2:22 PM

well....so....what's your point? Maybe I was struggling for formulate a true geometric calculation because I was extrapolating from such a poor sample...yeah...that's it...it's YOUR FAULT I didn't vote! You see, this is just like Florida in 2000? I was disenfranchised. Yep, that's it...

Posted by chris on March 11, 2004 at 2:35 PM

Told ya things in photoshop look smaller, what do I win for guessing the shotgun right?

Posted by Mark Adams on March 11, 2004 at 2:40 PM

I'm with Chris. I think we need a re-take from a variety of angles, positions, lighting schemes, outfits (or lack there-of)....

You know, for the sake of being fair...

Rob, I don't know who you are or where you come from, but you might possibly be the wisest man in the universe...

Rosemary, have a nice day. Please, for the love of God, have a nice day.

hey i was supposed to GUESS?!

anyway, cool. Someone else with the same size as me. ehehe.

Holy crap! I didn't even know there was such a thing as a hollow point slug. That would make an interesting physics word problem:

How far would a 200 lb. man fly after getting hit from close range with a 12 gauge hollow point slug? (Of course you'd need to provide the weight and velocity of the slug, and make the assumption that the man, er, corpse was knocked off his feet and landed on his butt; say a drop of 3 feet)

Okay so I'm a geek.

Very misleading, I never would've guessed. The blouse and gun hide some of the visual clues. I know, can we try again with 3D glasses? ;)

Posted by Rodney Dill on March 11, 2004 at 4:45 PM

Good thing I didn't guess, especially after the gun talk in this post, I would have thought much smaller than 36DD. I blame the picture though, no way my breast skill have fallen off that much.

By the way, Good going Dean, you truly are a better man than many for landing the QOAE.

that reminds me of an old physics joke:

3 people are asked their opinion about which horse will win a race. the first, a philosopher, makes all sorts of arguments on why betting is or is not immoral, quoting at length his various philosophical inspirations. the second, an engineer, attempts several models and monte-carlo simulations to determine which horse will statistically win the race. the third is a physicist, who begins: "consider a spherical horse, travelling with simple harmonic motion..."
cracks me up every time. how's that for geek?

Hey, I guessed 36 D. Not to bad for someone who doesn't have their own practice set at home.

Posted by Bravo Romeo Delta on March 11, 2004 at 5:34 PM

I'm not seeing DDs. I don't doubt (heh) your word, but that photo makes 'em look way smaller.

It was a fun contest, though. Maybe I'll post on my blog a picture of me in loose sweats standing next to a sequoia and ... never mind.

Dang! I was close.

Posted by Erica on March 11, 2004 at 6:32 PM

IB Bill,

Erica has seen me in person, within the last 6 months. She guessed 38DD. So, take her word for it. I may be Evil but I am honest.

Posted by Rosemary the Queen of All Evil on March 11, 2004 at 6:50 PM

I never doubted you. Nor do I think you're evil
:)

I was too late to enter......but it was a very nice picture.

Boys,

With breasts always guess larger, with age always guess younger, with beauty always more, with intelligence always wiser, with waist size always smaller.

That way, we will always see that you are more virile, handsomer, wiser, and taller in our eyes too.

My grandfather at age 90 said he still saw my grandmother the way she was when she was 18--they made love until the day he died--64 years of wedded bliss.

I would never question Rose about her breast size--especially while she's holding a shotgun!

Etch-a-Sketch erase mental picture, erase.

James,
Awww, sorry.

Posted by Katherine on March 12, 2004 at 12:03 AM

I will survive Katherine. It is just so much easier to think of Seniors as asexual. Spares me from very traumatizing thoughts, especially if they were at it right up til he died if you understand me correctly. :-)

Posted by James Doney on March 12, 2004 at 12:10 AM

James,

Lexical ambiguity, sorry. Didn't mean it literally. :-)

Posted by Katherine on March 12, 2004 at 3:07 AM

And did you get this wonderful weapon for Buy A Gun Day II?

Nifty banners, too.

JFH: How far would a 200# man fly after being hit wit ha 12 gauge hollowpoint?

Not an inch. He'd probably fall over pretty fast, though.

If a 12 gauge slug had enough energy to make a 200# man fly when hit with it, it would conversely have enough energy ("equal and opposite reaction", vis. Newton) to make a 200# man fly backward when shooting it.

I know from experience the latter doesn't happen (though it might make your shoulder sore).

I'd also like to remind Rosemary that her shotgun pattern probably spreads less than she intimates it does; at across-the-room ranges I wouldn't expect buckshot from any normal choke to spread much bigger than 3-6", tops. The common rule of thumb, IIRC, is a 15 degree or smaller cone - that's pretty small at 10-15 feet.

Posted by Sigivald on March 12, 2004 at 4:14 PM

Take out the choke and it should hold nine rounds. (with a short barrel - i.e. 18".) I don't know about Michigan, but in CA it is legal to have no choke in a weapon used for home defense. Why use four rounds when you can make a complete fucking mess of your house with nine?
