Well, you are dropping your carb consumption considerably, and with your high-protein diet (steak and eggs every morning, I think you said?), that'll drop the pounds fast.

Not necessarily. I put on 30 pounds in 6 months, and now, 7 years later, I'm STILL working it off! It depends on how well you ate when you were drinking, and how well you eat after. Also WHAT you drank. As a vodka guy myself with very little food, I stayed fairly thin. Then after I started eating well (normally?) the pounds just melted right on...and I was working a construction job, too, so it isn't like I was sedentary.

Beer. Lots of beer and semi-sweet wine. Plus, drinking stimulated my appetite, so I ate more.

My caloric consumption has dropped off sharply.
