Great story! Ya gotta wonder what makes some of these old gals so tough.
Back in the day, I had a landlady who still had her concentration camp number tattooed on her forearm. Very early every morning, she'd take her little dog and cat (really) on a walk around the block.
One morning, she arrived back to see, through the kitchen window, someone robbing her little groundfloor apartment. She went into the apartment and locked the door behind her all the while yelling at the thief "Don't take my stuff, you son of a b**tch. He broke the window getting out of the apartment and fled.
I guess she'd seen scarier things than a two-bit burglar.
But you know, Dean, when she had to put down her doggie, she cried for weeks.
In other news, authorities have decided not to punish the robber, reasoning that the humiliation of explaining to his friends that he was caught and detained by a 60-year-old woman is punishment enough.

(Not really, but it'd probably work.)
