An Interesting Dean

I have been a fan of artist Roger Dean's work for as long as I can remember. He is best known for his album cover designs from the 1970s. If I say "the guy who did the cool Yes cover," I think most of you will probably say, "oh, that guy!"

Turns out he has a web site. right here. With some cool art slideshows and other stuff. Including some neat stuff for sale.

The desktop wallpaper looks especially tempting.

(Thanks for pointing the site out, Jerry. I'll have to content myself to look for now, but it's lovely stuff.)

My favorite Dean cover was the one he did for Topographical Oceans. The music was lame, but the cover was cool.

My older brother was the Yes fan. I liked some of their work, but the bulk of it left me cold. A case of the cover art outshining the music within.

Thanks for the tip.

Excellent! I still have a book of Dean album covers and other art that I bought back in the 70s.

I like the music and the covers. The music saw me through my first Navy deployment. Unfortunately we had a flight deck fire that killed 16. The music took me far, far away. Alan - what about the Tales from Topographic Oceans album cover on the back of a leather jacket? The Yes fashion line.
