Does he state anywhere what Kerry's qualifications are? It's like asking a kid what he wants for lunch. I don't want this or I don't want that doesn't cut it.

Oh, it's very simple, Q; According to Ara, Kerry's qualifications are that he's
a) a Democrat, and
b) NOT Bush

'nuff said.

Sorry what are Bush's qualifications?

Sorry what are Bush's qualifications to be President?

Sorry what are Bush's qualifications to be President?

He is really good at fund raising.

100. He's not Kerry.
99. He's not Edwards.
98. He's not Dean.
97. He's not Gore.
96. He's not either of the Clintons...

Hey!! How can Ara be wrong if I almost always agree with him?!? WTF, over?

Why Bush is a perfect president? He can still smirk even though he is lying his ass off. Clinton and Reagan pulled that one off masterfully. Trouble is, Clinton lied about insignificant shit; Bush's lies set the economy and society back 10 years. Ah screw it, cut taxes then.

Ara wrong? More like around the bend.

His objection seems to be that Bush hasn't done enough whupass'ing in the ME and NK. His answer seems to be "let's elect the guy who promises to defer to France and ask permission of Europe."

Sounds like Misha would be his preferred candidate. Alas, he's not running.
Or maybe Rumsfeld--who's not running, either.

Hey, thanks for spelling my name right!

"Does he state anywhere what Kerry's qualifications are? It's like asking a kid what he wants for lunch. I don't want this or I don't want that doesn't cut it."

Um...Kerry has websites (Senator and presidentially candidate) that have his bio and positions. Though it could be outside your quantum (or thinking).

Posted by shep on February 25, 2004 at 12:37 PM

um, yeah, but his bio (at least the voting record part) is in direct contradiction with his positions.
Which concept seems to be outside your quantum...[grin]

(Continuing to list Bush's qualifications.)

65. We know his definition of "is."
64. We know where he stands on the issues from one moment to the next.
63. He knows that America's safety is America's responsibility.

Bush qualification #
"64. We know where he stands on the issues from one moment to the next."

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha! Would that be on nation-building, the rationale for tax cuts, negotiating with Pyonyang, how big the deficit will be or how much Medicare will cost (I could go on)? Oh, now I see what you meant by “one moment to the next.” Good one, McGehee!

Posted by shep on February 25, 2004 at 2:40 PM

Oh, I left out free-trade. Bwahahahahahahaha!

If I were to learn that the real name of George W Bush were Georgi Bushkov and that he had spent 1969-1972 as a hotshot pilot of a MIG-21 in the Soviet Air Force, who had contrived to transfer himself to soft reserve duty in a better suburb of Moscow, I would still vote for him in November 2004, in place of senator John Kerry of (oh god, I'll need a lifelong supply of laxatives if I ever even visit that damned state) Massachusetts.

Can't get more definitive, subjective, and politically focused than that, can I, Ara?

Dirty! Tricksey! False!

Yes indeedy...

"Arnold Harris, the brand you know and trust!"

About that other idea, "a hotshot pilot of a MIG-21 in the Soviet Air Force," you might want to call Karl Rove; they're looking to fill in a gap on POTUS' resume for that time period.

No Ara, I think those years are covered. Bush was perfecting the use of the Water-Bong and Beer funnel. Can you believe that bastard Gore tried to take credit for inventing?

No Ara, I think those years are covered. Bush was perfecting the use of the Water-Bong and Beer funnel.

But Tim, you'll have to excuse me. It's like they say: if you can remember the 60's then you probably weren't really there.

Bush is a pretty good President (maybe a .280 lifetime batting average). I expect Kerry would be a little worse (maybe a .255 lifetime batting average). Problem is, I can't be sure about Kerry. He might be like Carter (maybe a .187 lifetime batting average). I'm almost certain he won't be as good as Bush. But even with Carter, the country didn't go too badly. Perhaps we could remember, when rooting for our favorite political teams, that the players aren't actually bums, the umpires have very good eyesight, and that we would look rather foolish on the field.

Yours,
Wince

He certainly is not right, ever....he's usually left, often correct and sometimes witty

And you, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman.

Wince:

No fair! Kerry's sport is hockey. And I'm from Hockeytown, home of the perenniel Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Wings.

...and also home of the, er, the Detroit Tigers.

Arnold Harris
I mean no offence but you may be crazy. I don't understand how the ordinary American can give alleigance, respect and the their vote to an over-priviliged waster like Bush, whose primary interest is securing his own re-election and making sure he does right by his rich buddies.......unless you are one of his rich buddies.

Oh and the really sad thing is that you can substitute "bush" with the name of almost all politicians and you would not be far wrong
