I still don't get it. What is with his hair?

Posted by Rosemary the Queen of All Evil on February 23, 2004 at 3:24 PM

What year is that from? The drawings look like his *really* early stuff.

Well, yeah. Back when "Doonesbury" was funny. And relevant. And ... did I mention funny?

*sigh* I remember when he was funny, too. Before he was bitter.

These strips date back to 1971.

I believe it was Reagan getting re-elected, winning 49 states, that brought the bitterness to full boil.

Looks like you have no concept of why you should not post copyrighted comics to your blog. It can get you sued.

Here I am. Come get me.

In that case, Dean, just link directly to the strips in question, since they're on Trudeau's website...

Looking at this post, I've read more "Doonesbury" in one day than I had in the last ten years. Dean's doing him a favor.

But bitterness is the highest form of wit, and adyway Doonesbury is still funny. Maybe it's just my liberal world view

Posted by Ru on February 24, 2004 at 6:18 AM

These days Doonesbury is about as funny as a five hour lecture from your ex on "What's Wrong About You."

Posted by fred on February 24, 2004 at 9:32 AM

In the mid 70's he had good artwork AND he was still funny.

Posted by maor on February 24, 2004 at 11:56 AM

Also, his REALLY early work has hair that's MUCH worse than this (hard to believe but true)

Posted by maor on February 24, 2004 at 11:57 AM

Good Lord, I remember when I **first** read these. Huh. Must be why my hair is grey!
