Dean's Big Chance

With the wake of the new John Kerry "intern scandal" (to which I'm not currently inclined to give all that much credence, to be honest), it's not all that far-fetched to find yourself asking if Howard Dean's campaign won't make a recovery from the grave.

But Richard Bennett explains here and here why that is unlikely. Mind you, that was all written a couple of weeks ago. But not much has changed in those two weeks, if you ask me.

The practical upshot? Money does not win elections. Neither does being hip or being really, truly convinced that the voters will agree with you if only they'll listen.

* Update * I really should have linked Bennett's The Stupid Campaign first, which is the best overall summation of them all.

The internet is a wonderful tool if you're interested in educating people, or creating publicity or buzz. It's what you do with that and how you shape it that matters most.

The only thing that wins elections is getting more votes than the other guy.

Most of the time, anyway.

Not quite on point, but I just saw Kucinich on Leno in a silly Dating Game sort of skit. Kucinich said (approximately), "Bachelorette Number Two, if I win the nomination...eh, could happen..."

How can you not help but love the man? I wouldn't vote for him, but I'd be happy to crunch carrot and celery sticks with him.

Sly little dog, he made off with Jennifer Tilly. Sigh.

It might lift Dean's campaign a little bit, but he's still done for. This will just result in delaying Dean's retirement from the race, which is great for Bush-supporters.

Money doesn't win elections, which has been proven quite right considering Dean's absolute failure (so far) in these primaries.

Bill, I saw Leno too and really got a kick out of Kucinich, and I would eeven eat a veggie burger with him, he was a little doll on the, "Dating Game". Cybil Shepard looked pretty nice I thought, still has that rough side.I am looking forward to Edwards going on Leno tomorow evening. Hey, "Clint Eastwood for President", I know, I know but having a Dirty Harry would be great against the terrorist, "GO AHEAD, MAKE MY DAY!"

Yea Dean, if "they'll just listen", that is true and Wacko Deano doesn't have a prayer.
I have to agree with Charles Barkley, "Can you imagine him with world leaders?" Now that is a very scarey thought. (Barkley was on Leno too)

Don Imus had Kerry on his show this morning. Kerry said that there was nothing to the rumors of an affair with an intern. You can read my take by clicking on my name.

I didn't see Leno but did read about it at sacbee.com. Gotta admit that looney little leprechaun is a good sport.

Kerry is a creep. First he says he is a war hero, then I see footage of him at Hanoi Jane's anti-war demonstration in the 70's denouncing soldiers fighting in Vietnam as murderers and warcriminals. I read he was part of the secretive "Skull and Bones" and "Church of Fandel" organizations. Both plan to reduce the population on Earth from 6 billion to 2 billion in a 100 years using the the Chinese 1 child policy. I find it mindboggling the media haven't investigated him more thoroughly.
Kerry can't even keep a vow to his wife, so how are we supposed to believe him when he vows to uphold the constitution? The girl was only 20 years old. Kerry is 60 for goodness sake. He was banging a baby. Isn't Michael Jackson in court for that? But I guess Creepy Kerry can always flee the country and hide in France, like Roman Polanski. So the rumors about Kerry using Botox are true after all. Though looking at the age difference he probably wasn't using Botox to stiffen his forehead.
