Headline of the Week

Headline says it all, really:

Iraq Pilgrims in Saudi Thank God for Saddam's Fall.

Not much else to say, is there?

Well, yeah there is.

Too bad it says "Saudi" instead of "Mecca."

Good point.

What point?

That the web-equivalent of a typesetter could not be bothered to add Arabia.

That one of the contributing unwashed did not have the historical or geograhic knowledge to write "Mecca".

I chalk it up to laziness or ignorance.

What do we call that place once the pimps thugs and murderers (the house of Saud) are tossed out on their collective ears? Arabia? Would that make the people "arabs", rather than "saudis"? How about "Mecca", or the "land of the two mosques"? The last is a bit wordy (and I didn't spell "mosque" right, I don't think), but does have a nice poetic ring to it...
