Try Honesty, Guys

Journalist Bill Hobbs has examined the Bush AWOL allegation in-depth, including doing a good deal of original investigative journalism of his own, and written a series of detailed posts examining and refuting the AWOL Bush myth. I suggest you read it, because you're going to keep hearing about this for the next ten months, and you should know that it is simply scurrilous, mean-spirited gossip.

You should challenge anyone who repeats it to back up their allegations. You'll find that they can't, and have nothing but inuendo and insinuation and airy generalizations.

Democrat, Republican, independent, whatever, if you care about simple honesty in politics, it's important to stomp on irresponsible allegations and distorted half-truths, no matter who they're aimed at.

By the way, you should also read Army veteran Donald Sensing's excellent Bush was 'technically a deserter' charge, said charge being equally without merit.

Inuendo... insinuation... a Jedi craves not these things.

Well, a gay Jedi might... (running and ducking for cover)

Man, I'm not even gay and somehow I'm offended. Don't ask me how. I don't know. I've very perplexed by the whole situation right now. However, I take solice in the fact that heterosexual Jedi are not swayed by inuendo and insinuation.

But, as Jedi are urged to keep away from passion, how would we know a gay or straight Jedi? I suppose if a particular Jedi were really flashy or trendy that might be a clue...

Ok. Gotta get a bit serious here. I read Don's article last week, and it makes three tons of sense.

I mean, really; the Democrats can go after Bush about a lot of real issues. I don't see why they have to crucify the man?

I tell a lie: I can see why: it's so much more fun when tho opposition is a rat bastard, instead of just the opposition, isn't it?

Sigh...

Thank you for the link! BTW, I am a retired Army officer, not a Marine. But my eldest son will report to Parris Island for Marine boot camp this June 14.

Aaaack! That's the second time in the last year I've referred to a soldier as a marine.

I'm surprised one of you guys hasn't kicked my butt yet.

(Article fixed.)

Damn, Rev., I'll be saying a prayer for Onehand Jr. on Flag Day.

I had a liberal friend on an e-mail list post it, and when challenged on the facts, she responded that she didn't care if it was true or not, it was "indicative" of the kind of man Bush is.

So I quickly found an old "Bill Clinton murdered Vince Foster" e-mail and posted it to the list, with the same caveat.

Not helpful! I wish America's Funniest Home Videos could have been there to see her when she opened it.

"Democrat, Republican, independent, whatever, if you care about simple honesty in politics"

Amen. And that should apply to state of the union speeches as well.

But not to you Brian?
