A Cruel Yeti

Don't even ask me why I find this so amusing. But I do.

The Yeti is cruel.

(My best so far is 310.3 yards.)

This thing is great! I love it!
I have now been bashing birds for 15 minutes and there is no end in site. The sad thing is I am very bad at it, but I am blaming it on my mouse for now.
The best part is when the birdie turns its head to look back at the yeti after stopping.
I either hit it 275, under 100, or not at all. Dean maybe you should give lessons.

He seems to fly fastest if you hit him in the neck.

Also, I find that it seems to go further if you HOLD DOWN the mouse button, then release the button to hit the bird. This seems to work better than just clicking.

i think that yeti might be gay.

Curses. My daugher had to investigate the quacking sound coming from my computer. Can't say I'm working with THAT noise.

So, tell us, why do you enjoy this?

320.2

323.5 -- I find that the penguin flies farther if you visualize him as Ted Rall.

I was thinking Krugman's cat, myself. Actually, I suspect that this is a DNC plot to reduce productivity and thereby hurt economic indicators before the election.

Of course I also suspect Tetris was a KGB tool.

307 and still trying. Thanks Dean, as if I didnt have anything else to waste time with. Im hooked.

312 and change. I must have found that sweet spot by accident, because after that all my best hits were pop-ups that came down around the 200-yard mark and, well, didn't advance from there.

Posted by McGehee on January 24, 2004 at 9:00 AM

I know it kills you on distance, but I kinda like it when you hit him too high and his face gets buried in the snow.

320.3 - how addictive.

Posted by Bill on January 24, 2004 at 11:11 AM

296 in about 3 minutes time, but I see that the goal is elusive.

Success! 323.5
Damn Penguin Lust.

The swing is on the release of the button so its easier to time it if you are holding the button down.

Posted by Rodney Dill on January 24, 2004 at 11:50 AM

But Rodney, Penguin Lust is perfectly normal and healthy. I, for one, fully support Penguin Lust--

Oh, sorry, today's topic is Nun-Beating. I'm 'gainst that. :)

Alas, the best I've done is 307...

320.5

Damn this is fun.

322.9...hey, anyone have a link to where we beat baby seals to death?....

Posted by Mark Noonan on January 24, 2004 at 2:05 PM

That is too addicting, but I did get to 326 one time.

Turbo Penguin, I usually use Netscape, but I tryed this with Internet Explorer and the graphics were much faster.

Posted by Rodney Dill on January 24, 2004 at 2:31 PM

323.5 !!! I think my wife is going to go crazy trying to beat my score.

Posted by Tim the Soldier (and penguin swatter) on January 24, 2004 at 4:15 PM

Of course my Yeti corked his club.

Dean, what you do to people. The Audacity!

Posted by giggle giggle on January 24, 2004 at 8:53 PM

Wow, a Yeti batting cage, I assume that this is the 'slow pitch softball' version. I want to find the 90 mph version.

315.5

Posted by Thinks Too Much on January 24, 2004 at 11:43 PM

I found another version of this at http://www.technetguru.com/reposit/pingu2.swf . Identical graphics, but the penguin goes about twice as far. Head sticks run 440 to 480, against a best of 207, and my alltime best on it was 556.

Posted by triticale on January 25, 2004 at 12:36 AM

328, but now you tell me he swings on the release and I keep missing. I've even missed twice on the same bird.

Yours,
Wince

Apparently, I am the bastard who tortures the penguins the most. After about an hour I got one out to 588. If you hit them just before they hit the ground, they will fly out to 300 and then skip and slide out to 500+.

There is a crisis!!

Can't link to the Yeti site!!

Can someone find out if their server is down.?

BTW sounds like a duck farm in this office.
