These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things (Rosemary)

Interesting stuff from some of my favorite bloggers.

Baldilocks gives us Gimli the Infidel
What can I say about Juliette? I think she is da bomb! Oh, and she can kick your ass.

Cobb tells us about Secularism Gone Wrong
Cobb is always so serious. He's the only blogger that can give me a smackdown and make me feel like a 10 year old that belongs in the corner.

Michael Demmons, aka Discount Blogger, tells us WHY I LIKE JOE LIEBERMAN.
Have I mentioned before how much I like Michael Demmons? It's bordering on blogger love...

Geoffrey, in a rare display of seriousness, gives us this post: Oh say can you see
You know, I like him almost as much when he's serious, as I do when he is vile and disgusting.

Beth had a run in with ...the obnoxious Englishman
Please make sure to click the link of Beth's basement. Girlfriend loves the 2nd amendment. :-)

That's it for now. I have many more favorites but I want to showcase them in small sets.

Secularism is, in part, shallow and materialistic. However, it is secularism that gives our society the "umbrella" of pop culture that connects most Americans despite their differences. IMO this has staved off some of the religious and racial violence, not that we have been free of it.

The thing about complaining about secularism is this: It is voluntary even it is in your face. You do not have to kiss pop culture's butt and buy the SUV, keep three televisions in your home and idolize an endless parade of actors, sports stars, and artists.

The Amish fight it off and other Christians do not have to buy into pop culture either. In fact the United States is the country that gives Christians the most freedom to not only avoid but to combat it with Christian media and publishing. I have not done any research on his but how many countries allow someone to start churches in the basements and develop them large churches?

So frankly, I do not understand anyone complaining about secularism, whether they be conservative, liberal, Christian or whatever.

Yes! Freedom of religion, whatever religion you perfer, whatever kind, and as much or as little as you want. In other words, freedom to worship any God or Gods or none at all. And freedom of speech and the right of the people to keep and bear arms and the right to privacy in our homes. The United States of America is the freest nation on this planet. Rosemary, the VERY _GOOD_ Queen of All Evil, linked us to some fine posts here. And I honor, above all, the brave men and women in our armed forces who are putting their lives of the line to keep us free. And that means Tim the Soldier and Eel Master.
