I've been meaning to write about that for a while, and I finally left it in our Eco-Religion thread. Just scroll down the thread and search for "an economist's perspective" and you'll see me prove that overpopulation fears are completely groundless. Not that people don't cause environmental problems, but overcrowding is in no way at the root of it--and there will never, I repeat never, be widespread famine caused by overpopulation, no "great die off."
I'm serious, by the way. It's a powerful myth that people seem to have an ingrarined need to believe. But it's simply that: a myth. Read it if you don't believe me.
