Jack's Had Enough

I was thinking about voting for Bush, until I saw these photos, then I realized I'd better not.

Yeesh. Jack's right. People need to do better. He may be peeing in the wind, but kudos to him for trying.

Civility and "reasonable, well-formulated, and well-documented arguments." Right.

Sedition : Conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state.
Insurrection; rebellion.

So when should we expect him to be arrested and tried for that piece of crap?

"So when should we expect him to be arrested and tried for that piece of crap?"

Oh, about... never.

And it's a very good thing too. I remember seeing a political caricature of Andrew Jackson sitting down on a pile of skulls leaning on his sword. Striking, dramatic imagery has long been used in US politics. The problem isn't that it is or should be illegal, it's that it's discrediting and that doing this sort of thing is going to cost them votes. It's a coarsening of public speech but that's rarely handled best by law enforcement.

Those Hitler photos might as well be campaign posters for Bush. I don't care that much about him one way or the other, but if his opponents keep this up, he's certain to re-elected -- and by a landslide. I hate to see either political party making such an ass of itself. And I wish the Libertarian Party would get their act together someday.
